Dr. Edward P. Wimberly to Receive Prestigious Award from the University of Arizona

Congratulations to ITC’s Interim President Dr. Edward P. Wimberly on being selected as a recipient of the 2014 University of Arizona Athletics Department A-Club C.A.T.S. Silver Anniversary Award.    The Award was established in 1991 and given to the University of Arizona Student Athlete Alumni who participated in competitive sports a minimum of 25 years ago.  The acronym C. A.T.S. stands for Commitment to an Athlete’s Total Success and the A-Club Silver Anniversary Award recognizes past Letter winners who embody C.A.T.S. ideals.  Dr. Wimberly was chosen because of the “significant impact he has made in his community, to the University of Arizona, and to his chosen profession.”

Dr. Wimberly will receive his award during the C. A. T. S. Awards Banquet on Monday, April 21, 2014.  Anyone who knows Dr. Wimberly has heard him speak about his tenure at the University of Arizona, and have surely heard of his triumphs as a football player during that era.  As the first African American to receive this prestigious award, this is certainly a welcome and much deserved honor.  Congratulations Dr. Edward P. Wimberly on this wonderful accomplishment.

Again, congratulations to Dr. Wimberly on this awesome achievement!
