Profile

The Rev. Dr. James Taneti is Director of Ministry and Context. An ordained minister in the PCUSA, James joined ITC with extensive experience in parish, classroom, clinical, and correctional settings. In addition to directing the Ministry and Context program, James also teaches courses in mission and world Christianity. His areas of expertise include Non-western Christianity, history of Christianity, and Practical Theology. In addition to numerous essays and book reviews, James has authored two books about Christianity in South Asia. He currently working on the history of the Telugu Christians. In his writings and teaching, James focuses on Christianity at the intersections of empire, race, gender and caste.
